Dance at St. Ana Retirement Home/Aging Without Censorship

The workshop explores personal experiences of dance and the different ways in which dance can emerge through conversation, music and movement. Drawing on their own memories, experiences and associations, participants share movements, learn from one another and explore dance as a form of personal expression, communication and collective creation.

Over the course of three sessions, the group gradually develops shared movement material. The first session focuses on personal experiences and memories of dance, listening to music and learning movements from one another. The second session explores movements drawn from everyday activities and tasks, investigating how they can be transformed into dance material. During the third session, participants revisit selected movements and combine them into a collective choreography.

The workshop encourages the exchange of experiences, creativity and collaborative movement exploration, creating space for diverse physical possibilities, individual approaches and an understanding of dance beyond predefined forms and techniques.
