Analog Forest

Analog Forest

performance at the antifa memorial site Dotrščina

The Virtual Museum of Dotrščina (VMD) in partnership with the Serbian National Council is opening the pavilion of the Temporary Museum in Dotrščina next week, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of VMD. The event will open with the performance of Analog Forest, which was created especially for this occasion. The performance combines elements from the anti-drama Kralj Godogan by Radovan Ivšić from 1943, with documents testifying to the events in Dotršina during the NDH. King Godogan is a tyrannical ruler who, after killing all his subjects and not knowing what to do next, goes into the forest and cuts down trees. During the NDH, the Dotrščin forest was Zagreb’s largest execution ground for opponents of the Ustasha regime. At the same time, the oak forest in Dotrščina was cut down, and the current hornbeam forest grew after that, so today’s Dotrščina forest is as old as the crime that happened there.
